Regency Hotel Malabar Hill Overview
First Impressions
The Regency Hotel Malabar Hill sits on Nepean Sea Road in one of Mumbai‘s most coveted neighborhoods, and honestly, the location alone makes this three-star property worth considering. I mean, you’re literally perched on Malabar Hill — the same area where Bollywood stars and business tycoons call home. The hotel itself has that classic Mumbai charm without trying too hard to be something it’s not. It’s comfortable, well-maintained, and the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay pleasant.
The Malabar Hill Advantage
What really sets this place apart is where it’s positioned — you’re walking distance from the Hanging Gardens and just a short ride to Marine Drive. The Arabian Sea views from certain parts of the hotel are actually quite stunning, especially during sunset hours. You know what I love about this area? It feels removed from Mumbai’s chaos while still being connected to everything that matters. Couples particularly seem to gravitate toward this spot, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about being up on the hill with the city sprawling below you.
The Room Experience
The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid three-star — clean, functional, and surprisingly quiet given that you’re in the heart of Mumbai. Each room comes with air conditioning that actually works (trust me, this matters in Mumbai), and the beds are comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, and I appreciated the attention to cleanliness throughout. While you won’t find marble countertops or designer fixtures, everything feels fresh and properly maintained.
Dining and Daily Life
The hotel’s restaurant serves decent Indian and continental options — nothing that’ll blow your mind, but solid, reliable food that hits the spot after a long day exploring the city. What I actually enjoyed more was grabbing breakfast here and planning out my day while looking over the neighborhood. The service is attentive without being hovering, and the staff knows the area well enough to give you proper directions and recommendations. There’s also parking available, which is honestly a blessing in this part of Mumbai where finding a spot can be a nightmare.
Why Guests Love It
Recent guests consistently praise the location, and after spending time here, I completely understand why. You’re close enough to South Mumbai’s business district for work trips, but far enough up the hill to feel like you’re staying somewhere special. The combination of being in an upscale neighborhood while paying three-star prices feels like getting away with something. Plus, the hotel staff seems to understand that location is their biggest asset — they’re always ready with suggestions for nearby walks, local eateries, and the best times to visit nearby attractions. It’s the kind of place that works well for couples looking for a romantic Mumbai experience without breaking the bank.

Excellent breakfast and staff. They are ready to help and assist in anything you might need. Also great room service and laundry service. The location is perfect to reach most of the sightseeing points of the city and the city center. Also easy to reach the airport from the hotel. The room was clean but a bit small.
