Fort is basically Mumbai’s business heart, and staying here means you’re walking distance from everything that matters. I mean, you’ve got the Gateway of India just a short stroll away, and the whole Colaba area is right there when you want to shop or grab a drink. What couples seem to love most (and I can see why they rate it so highly) is that you can easily walk to romantic spots like Marine Drive in the evening, then wake up and be at CST station in minutes if you need to catch a train. The neighborhood has this perfect mix of colonial architecture and bustling street life that makes every walk feel like a mini adventure.

The Room Experience

You know what really surprised me? The beds are genuinely comfortable — like, better than some four-star places I’ve stayed at. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully laid out and clean, which matters more than square footage when you’re mostly out exploring anyway. The air conditioning works well (crucial in Mumbai), and the bathrooms are modern enough without trying too hard to be fancy. There’s something to be said for a place that focuses on getting the basics absolutely right.

Food & Dining

The breakfast setup at Residency Hotel Fort is actually one of its strongest points. They do this buffet spread that covers continental options alongside vegetarian and halal choices, so pretty much everyone’s dietary needs are sorted.   We stayed in the "new wing" of the hotel, which is a building next door. The rooms were very modern, clean and typical of a 4 star European hotelin my view. AC, WiFi, bed, storage, sockets, lighting were all great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They offer tours if you're interested. Breakfast expect a short wait if it's busy, but food is decent. Location is great for walking around and plenty of restaurants. Reccomend Raju Chai nearby for a masala tea.

  Nice, clean room. Good breakfast with very positive waiters. Room was very well cleaned and prepared every day. Our room was in a separate building towards the back – and thus very calm.

  The staff at the hotel provided exceptional service. Assisting us with travel arrangements to restaurant recommendations, they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast buffet featured a wide variety of Indian dishes, refreshing iced drinks, and freshly prepared eggs. Additionally, the hotel’s convenient location, just a stone’s throw away from the city’s most iconic attractions, made it an ideal base for exploring Mumbai’s sights.

  All the staff is extremely friendly. They ensure that your stay is as comfortable as it can be. Kesar specially was very sweet. They helped me get a dress fixed by a tailor and provided us free coffee tea whenever we wanted.

  From the moment we entered (and even down the street when we arrived), the staff really looked after us, from booking taxis to arranging pre-packaged breakfast due to very early departure. Good to notice the staff is speaking good English (even excellent for the reception).
