First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Villa by the Sea, I’ll be honest — the name had me expecting something a bit more polished. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you right off the bat. This three-star property in Mumbai sits right on the beachfront, and while it might not have marble lobbies or crystal chandeliers, it’s got something better: that relaxed, unpretentious vibe that makes you want to kick off your shoes and actually enjoy your vacation.

Location & Beach Access

The real magic here is stepping out of your room and literally being steps away from the sand. I mean, how often do you get beachfront access in Mumbai without breaking the bank? The beach itself isn’t the pristine white sand you’d find in Goa, but it’s got character — local fishermen bringing in their catch in the early morning, families playing cricket in the evening. There’s something authentic about it that the more upscale resorts sometimes miss. Plus, having free private parking on-site is actually a huge deal if you’re driving in Mumbai (trust me on this one).

The Rooms & Hot Tub

The rooms are clean and comfortable — nothing fancy, but they’ve got everything you need. What really surprised me was how well-maintained everything felt despite the salt air constantly coming off the ocean. The real treat, though, is the hot tub. After a day of exploring Mumbai’s chaos, sinking into that jacuzzi while listening to the waves is pretty much perfect. It’s one of those simple pleasures that makes you wonder why more beachfront places don’t get this right.

Breakfast Experience

Now, the breakfast situation is interesting — it’s completely vegetarian, which initially had me wondering if I’d miss having more options. Actually, it turned out to be one of my favorite parts of staying here. The local dishes they serve are incredibly fresh, and you can tell they’re not just going through the motions with some generic continental spread. I found myself trying things I wouldn’t normally order, and honestly, starting the day with authentic vegetarian Indian breakfast while looking out at the Arabian Sea became something I looked forward to each morning.

Why Guests Love It

There’s a reason couples rate this place so highly — it’s got that intimate, away-from-it-all feeling without actually being isolated from the city. You’re still in Mumbai, so you can easily get to all the sights and sounds, but when you come back to Villa by the Sea, it feels like you’re escaping to your own little beach retreat. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting for the price point. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, and that authenticity is refreshing in a city where so many places are all flash and no substance.

  The pool was epic, secluded and the staff were fantastic and very helpful. The owners sent a welcome cake for us when we arrived and this was absolutely stunning and we were made to feel very welcome. This place is very beautiful.

  The property is ideal for families looking for a peaceful stay near to the beach. The beach is just a stones throw away. The terrace offers Magnificent views of the beach. They have a lovely seating area there too. The lawn outside the villa is huge and offers ample space to enjoy. The bathrooms have excellent fittings and are super clean. The host organised bonfire for us which was truly special. The host was available at all times and helped us throughout. The host is super sweet. This place is truly a gem. Must visit. It looks way better than the photos. THe photos dont do justice to the actual place which is way more beautiful

  It was meeting friends after a very long time. So wanted a place which is not far away from the centre of the city and at the same time space dedicated for us.
  I would say we got what we wanted. The place is kept clean and tidy. Big enough to accommodate 7-8 people.

  Very very clean, modern, large and spacious rooms. Very clean bathrooms, loads of storage in bedrooms.

  I was planning on celebrating my birthday at a place which was open, by the sea with a pool. And when I found this place, it was just too good. Not only does the place have a beautiful swimming pool, but also a huge lawn and a terrace to catch the best sunset. The staff was nice. Breakfast in the morning was yummy. Truly an amazing stay 🙂
